FAQ
How do I know if my property is appropriate for an ASA solar installation?
The ideal facility would have a roof of greater than 50,000 square feet (with no maximum), predominantly flat, and with minimally obstructed southern exposure.
How much does it cost to install an ASA system?
Since ASA will fund, install, operate and maintain the system there is no cost to the owner of the building or the tenant. The power purchaser would only agree to purchase the clean energy produced at costs no greater than the utility charges.
How does the system work with the current electric provider?
You would maintain your current utility relationship and the existing meter. ASA would install an additional meter to calculate the total electricity to be purchased from ASA and would deduct this amount from the utility meter. Your utility meter would actually run backwards during the day while solar power is produced, and vuce versa at night.
Does the system work during a power outage?
ASA is working with several technology partners to offer solar power as an emergency backup system during daylight hours.
Is there a risk to my roof?
ASA uses non-penetrating roof mounting systems for the solar panels, so there is no additional risk to your roof. In addition, ASA and its installation partners will provide additional guarantees.
In which states does ASA operate?
ASA is active in several states, and is continually expanding as states introduce legislation to enable and support the development of solar power.
